Truly LOVED all of this! I experienced so many similar things after going fully off apps for good in 2024 as well! I don't miss a single thing about them (why would I after using them for 15 years and only getting a couple of six-month situationships out of it?), at all, and, just like you, feel more freedom to live my life and embrace what's right in front of my eyes (and find creative ways to meet new people and dating prospects). I pitched this essay to a lot of places ahead of Valentine's Day and got all rejections (isn't dating offline the thing everyone is curious about now? aren't we all tired of reading articles about dating apps?) but maybe I'll keep pitching :)
